Natural Disaster Relief and Risk Management

During the grievous 2005 earthquake, QAF management team (in collaboration with Unity LSS) launched a disaster relief camps and a MASH medical support unit in Kashmir. The objective was to swiftly accord medical attention to the victims of the quake. In addition to the medical assistance, QAF also brought smiles to faces of many victims through the provision of the following:

Over 80 tons of food

Living and dining units

Portable water machines

Transport vehicles

2011 was another memorable year in Pakistan with a distinctive outbreak of Dengue Virus. QAF responded to the outbreak through fogging activities in the underprivileged areas such as Kachi Abadi, our fumigation effort also incorporated local mosques and police stations. Such effort was complemented through public awareness campaign against the Dengue virus. Our campaign was successful through our field representatives, who do not just distributed the pictorial message against Dengue virus in local languages but also disseminated through practical examples.

The level of awareness and preparedness for natural disaster remains at a bottom level, with the realisation, QAF disaster and risk management teams were sent into field educating and working along with reputable institutions like the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to further create awareness and response techniques to disaster, hence the reason for Epidemic Control Centre (ECC) which will help communities fight the spread of dengue.

QAF holds to a great esteem the worth of education and particularly believe every child should not be deprive of the fundamental right of education. In this backdrop, QAF has become visible in the educational sector.We have financially supporting Roshni School for education improvement.
